2023 Conference Wrap-Up for the Santerre Lab

Members of the Santerre Lab had the opportunity to attend several amazing conferences across the globe this spring and summer. We are so grateful to the organizers of these events for their efforts and the opportunity to present our work!

On March 28th-31st, the Tissue Engineering Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS)-European Chapter held its Annual Meeting in Manchester. PhD student Katya D’Costa did an oral presentation on “Extracellular Matrix Production by Primary Human Adipose-Derived Vascular Smooth Muscle-like Cells Interacting with Monocytes on a Nanofibrous Polyurethane Scaffold.”

On April 11th-14th, the TERMIS-America Chapter held its Annual Conference and Exhibition at the Boston Marriot Copley Place. PhD student Yizhou Chen presented a poster on the “In Vivo Assessment of Micro-sized Gelatin Polyurethane Composite Electrospun Scaffolds Delivered via Intramyocardial Injection”, while PhD student Brian Webb presented a poster on “Engineering Gingival Grafts Seeded with Human Adipose-Derived Stem Cells.”

On April 19th-22nd, the Society for Biomaterials held their Annual Meeting and Exposition at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.

Senior Research Associate Suja Shrestha did an oral presentation on “Self-Assembled Oligo-Urethane Nanoparticles for Intracellular Delivery of mRNA” in the Drug Delivery special interest group, and MASc student Kate MacQuarrie presented a poster titled “Adipose-Derived Stromal Cells Support the Endothelialization of an Electrospun Polyurethane Vascular Scaffold.”
