Santerre Lab attends the 36th Annual Canadian Biomaterials Society Meeting

Summer always brings with it many interesting research meetings and opportunities to share progress and network in the larger scientific community. The Santerre lab was well represented by a number of presentations, listed below, at the 36th CBS Meeting from May 13th to 15th:

Jeremy Antonyshyn - Mitigating the non-specific uptake of immunomagnetic microparticles enables the reproducible isolation of microvascular endothelial cells from human adipose tissue in large quantities with high purity

Shirley Chung - Localized delivery of exogenous C-type natriuretic peptide from heparin-coated NPs - potential use in suppressing fibrotic phenotypes in cardiac myofibrogenesis

Katya D'Costa - Effect of sodium ascorbate on the deposition of extracellular matrix proteins within scaffolds, generated by human adipose derived vascular smooth muscle cells and monocytes

Yizhou Chen - Preparation and characterization of a co-electrospun nanofibrous gelatin/polyurethane composite scaffold for cardiac tissue engineering

Suja Shrestha - Self-assembled oligo-urethane nanoparticles-delivery efficiency of active biomolecules in mammalian cells

Eric Tawagi - In vitro erosion studies of polyurethane-based hydrogels intended for use in sustained protein delivery applications

Dr. Santerre was also invited to speak at the inaugural Fireside Chat on the topic of Translation and Commercialization of Biomaterials.

We congratulate Suja for receiving the CBS Abstract Merit Award and we look forward to next year's meeting.
