Congratulations to our undergraduate theses students!

Two undergraduate students from the Santerre Lab have completed their theses and have decided to pursue their doctoral studies this coming Fall. Congratulations Patrick and Trevor!

Patrick Dong Min Chang

Patrick Dong Min Chang has successfully completed his fourth-year thesis titled “Investigating the in vitro shelf-life stability of ionic-urethane nanoparticles and assessing their binding to a CRISPR/Cas9 ribonucleoprotein complex” in the Santerre lab. During his 8 months in the lab he explored synthesis and characterization of biocompatible degradable and immune-modulatory nanoparticles which is a great contribution to the lab where a group is developing a non-viral approach for CRISPR/Cas9 delivery. Coming fall 2020 Patrick is joining Medical Imaging Materials Laboratory (Dr Naomi Matsuura) as a PhD student at IBBME, University of Toronto. Congratulations Patrick!

Trevor Ung

Trevor Ung has completed his fourth-year thesis, "Rapidly degrading microspheres for pro-angiogenic protein delivery in the management of critical limb ischemia (CLI)", in the Santerre Lab. During his time in the lab, Trevor focused on designing new microsphere formulations and analyzing their degradation. This is a key step towards the development of a microsphere delivery vehicle for pro-angiogenic therapeutics. In Fall 2020, Trevor will be joining the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago as a PhD student. Congratulations Trevor!
