2026 Conference Travels

Santerre Lab members had the chance to attend two annual meetings this spring: TERMIS-EU and CBS 2026. We are so grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to present our work to national and international audiences!

From April 21st to 24th, the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society’s (TERMIS) European Union chapter held their annual meeting in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Suja Shrestha presented her work in a poster presentation titled “Nanoparticle (PNP) uptake pathways and localization of mRNA when loaded on a PNP/lipid co-assembly,” and Kate MacQuarrie also presented a poster titled “Rapid, autologous, and confluent endothelialization yields enhanced functionality and hemocompatibility of co-cultured vascular wall constructs.” Kate also had the chance to co-chair one of the parallel symposia: Next-Generation Strategies for Cardiac Regeneration: Bridging Therapies and Translational Models.

Kate with other CBS session chairs, co-chairs, and organizers at the 2026 CBS/CSPS/cc-CRS meeting.

From June 3rd to 5th, Kate attended the Canadian Biomaterials Society’s (CBS) annual meeting, which was held in collaboration with the Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences (CSPS) and the Canadian Chapter of the Controlled Release Society (cc-CRS) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Kate delivered an oral presentation titled “Generating a confluent, mature, and less thrombotic endothelium via co-culture of autologous, adipose-derived endothelial and supporting cells”, and had the opportunity to co-chair two other sessions, Session 3: Mechanobiology/ Biomechanics/ Soft Biomaterials, and Session 19: Theranostics.
