Dr. Paul Santerre was a recipient of the 2016-2017 Connaught Innovation Award for ReFilx, a biodegradable breast tissue filler developed in collaboration with Dr. Wey Leong (UHN) and Kyle Battiston and Soror Sharifpoor (post-docs from the Faculty of Dentistry). Through Polumiros Inc., a spin-off launched by Kyle and Soror, efforts are being directed at further developing this technology to facilitate its translation from bench-to-bedside.
