Santerre lab members were in a festive mood this holiday season!
Santerre lab member and PhD transfer candidate Eric Tawagi is the lab's first winner of a Heart & Stroke/Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence Studentship award, valued at $15,000 CAD. Eric's project involves developing polyurethane nanoparticles for delivery of growth factors to ischemic vascular tissue.
Congratulations are also in order for Eric as he has recently been elected as the U of T Biomedical Engineering Students Association (BESA) Vice President of Professional Development! He's looking to communicating with IBBME alumni for career development events.
This summer, IBBME launched an outreach program for students entering Grades 8 and 9 called iBEAM, or IBBME Biomedical Engineering and Me.
